The IICRC is the globally recognized standard-setting body for the inspection, cleaning, and restoration industries. As a Certified Firm, Wright Restorations Canada has demonstrated compliance with IICRC's rigorous standards for water damage restoration (WRT), mold remediation (AMRT), fire and smoke restoration (FSRT), and applied structural drying (ASD).

All Wright Restorations Canada technicians and sub-contractors are covered under WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) certification. This protects homeowners and property managers from liability in the event of a workplace injury on their property during a restoration project.

Why Certifications Matter for Restoration Work
Restoration work — particularly mold remediation, asbestos abatement, and water damage drying — involves health and safety risks that uncertified contractors are not equipped to manage. Improper mold remediation can spread spores throughout a building, making the problem significantly worse. Asbestos disturbed without proper containment protocols can expose occupants to carcinogenic fibres for years after the work is completed.
The IICRC certification program exists specifically to address this. IICRC-certified technicians are trained to industry consensus standards that define the correct protocols for containment, drying, remediation, and clearance testing. Insurance companies in Ontario increasingly require IICRC-certified contractors for claims to be approved — meaning hiring an uncertified contractor may result in your claim being denied.
Our Ministry of Labour licence for asbestos work is not optional — it is a legal requirement under Ontario Regulation 278/05. Any contractor performing asbestos abatement without this licence is operating illegally and exposing the property owner to significant liability. We carry this licence and provide documentation to every client before work begins.
